The following measurement serves two. Use equal amount of rice and toor dal. For one cup of rice + toor dal to cook you can use three cups of water.

- 1/2 cup Toor Dal
- 1/2 cup Rice
- 1 Onion (big)
- 2 Tomato
- Ginger crushed into pieces
- 6 pods Garlic
- 3 Green Chillies
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 1/4 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tbsp Mustard Seeds Urad dal channa dal jeera , , , each
- 1/2 tbsp Cooking Oil
- Curry Leaves Corriander , leaves few
- Water

Instructions
- Heat oil in a tava. Add mustard seeds, urad dal,jeera and channa dal
- Let it splutter
- Add curry leaves, green chilles to it
- Chop the onions and tomatoes. Add them to tava
- Now add turmeric powder,salt to the mixture
- Saute for about minutes.Atlast add corrainder leaves to this 4 5
- Now take a thick bottomed vessel which is normally used for cooking rice. Add dal and rice. Use required amount of water
- To this add the sauteed mixture.Mix well
- Keep them in pressure cooker and wait for upto 4 whistles
- Dal and rice would have been cooked completely with other ingredients
- Dal rice is ready to served with Pappad or pickle
