Its Day-30 of my blogging challenge and truly unbelievable that I did this continuously without giving up half way. Also so happy to end this challenge with an all time favorite recipe of mine 🤗😬Having lived 8 years in Tirunelveli I was fortunate to taste various versions of Sodhi (coconut milk stew) at my friends house, amma’s friends house, at weddings and the list goes on. This dish is a must in Mappilai virundhu and it is always paired with Ginger Pacahdi and a spicy Potato fry.
Today I recreated the combo with less spices and according to the availability of ingredients at home. So dear purists sorry to have disappointed you 🙂 You can always replace ingredients based on your preference
The authentic version of this stew involves cooking of vegetables in freshly made coconut milk of various strengths (Thin milk, thick coconut milk) Adding this to the stew to make it more flavorful. However today I took a shortcut and used storebought canned Coconut Milk. Neverthless it tasted amazing. This is usually served with Rice, Idiyappam etc
Drumstick, Green Chillies are must have ingredients in a Sodhi.Unfortunately I didnt have both the ingredients at home today. But then heart wants it what it want that too when it comes to food 😋
😋 Made this delicious combo for dinner irrespective of missing essential stuff. It tasted heavenly and the little one absolutely loved it. The following measurement can be used while cooking for a family of 3. Adjust measurements accordingly
