- 1/2 kg Sweet Potatoes
- 1/2 cup Coconut Grated - .
- 2 tbsps Salt - .
- pinch Turmeric . , Hing (Perungayam) - a small
- Green Chillies -
- 5 Ginger small - pieces .
- 2 tbsps Lime Juice - .
For Seasoning :
- 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds - .
- 1 tbsp Urad Dal - .
- 1 tbsp Channa Dal - .
- Curry leaves .

Instructions
- Pressure cook Sweet Potatoes and peel the skin as we normally do for potatoes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add urad dal,channa dal,mustard,curry leaves.
- Let it splutter and then add ginger,chillies. Saute for about 2 mins.
- Add a pinch of turmeric,hing and 2 tbsp salt. Continue sauteing.
- Mash the potatoes completely and then add them to the pan.
- Keep frying them for about 5-6 minutes.
- Just spray the coconut and fry about 2 minutes.
- Turn off the gas stove and let it cool.
- Before serving pour the lime juice,mix it in such a way that the taste of lime is completely felt.
- So 'Poriyal' is ready for serving.
