This was the first porridge I fed Aadhu since Rice is easily digestable and also healthy. Amma prepared this powder at home. She used to grind fresh batch of this porridge powder every three-four weeks until I was there in India. Since she prefers to make it fresh. However Once I came back to UK this febraury I prepared a big batch of this powder & have been using it until now. Always use only dry spoon to take the powder for cooking & store them in airtight container
Ajwain helps to avoid gas issues in babies. If you don’t have access to Par Boiled Rice then you can try the same recipe with normal Raw Rice as well.
Initially the porridge has to be little bit watery. Once the babies are used to its taste & you can alter the consistency.
Also this is the best porridge to give your babies during stomach upset (during teething) or when they are ill. Adding milk & sugar/jaggery is your personal choice. If you are ok with it go ahead and add them in smaller quantities
