Lassi is one of the most popular Punjabi drinks that can be prepared in two ways. Either salt or sweet. Papaya lassi is a sweet version and a great alternative to the usual Mango Lassi. This tropical fruit is loaded with antioxidants, rich in Vitamin C and fiber. It has various health benefits like lowering cholesterol, boosting immunity and is good for maintaining blood sugar levels too.
You can refrigerate this drink and consume within two days. Being Summer season, beat the heat with this healthy,refreshing drink. I have added orange juice to give an extra tangy taste. In case if you don’t have oranges handy, try substituting with 1/4 cup of lemon juice. The following measurement yields two glasses of Lassi. Kindly adjust measurements according to your need
- Mix papaya,orange juice,sugar and blend it for a minute
- Then add yogurt,cardamom powder,ice cubes. Blend until you get a smooth thick consistency
- Garnish lassi with few saffron strands and cardamom powder before serving
