A feast is incomplete without a Dessert. Indian Dessert recipes mostly contain sweets,cakes and occassionally pies,puddings.My favorite dessert is Gulab Jamun.Whenever there are guests.
coming to home this dessert will surely be in our meal.My mom prepares it mainly during Diwali and our birthdays.Now a days making gulab jamun is so easy since we have readymade jamun mix from various brands.MTR jamun mix is the best according to me.One thing we have to be careful is the preparation of dough.We should not hit the dough hard as we do for preparing Chappathi. That will ruin the softness of the dessert.Lets get into the preparation.

- 250 g MTR Jamun mix
- 1 litre Water
- 750 g Sugar
- 4 tbsps Cardomom Powder
- 5 tbsps Ghee
- 2 tbsps Honey
- Cooking Oil
- optional Saffron Rose Water and Essence is

Instructions
- Preparation of Dough : In a vessel empty the MTR Jamun mix powder. Add ghee 2 tbsps
- Mix them well
- Add water first and then mix them gently to form dough
- Knead the dough in such a way that water gets completely mixed with the jamun powder and the texture of the dough should be soft
- Once this is done you can leave the dough and close the vessel for about 10 mins and then make them into balls
- Preparation of Sugar Syrup : For 250g of MTR jamun mix 1 used 1 litre of water and 750g of sugar. Most them use equal proportion of water and sugar.However I use water more inorder to have more syrup.
- Heat a 1litre of water and add sugar to it.
- Let it boil for about ten minutes. Then add cardomom powder to the syrup and let it boil for sometime.
- If you would like to saffron and essence you can add them now.
- The syrup should not be thick and it has to be little bit loose. At last add 2tbsp. of honey.
- Preparation of Gulab Jamun :
- Heat cooking oil in a frying pan.
- Apply ghee in both hands and before putting the balls into oil, just grease the ball with ghee. This will add flavor to jamun and also it prevents the balls from breaking in oil.
- Wait until they turn into dark brown.
- Once the oil is filtered put them into the sugar syrup.Now jamun is ready to be served.
