I love deep fried snacks. Lockdown is making us crave for more norukks 🤪🤪🙆 There is no doubt about it. Though i don’t follow any strict diet, nowadays am trying to avoid making too many deep fried dishes in a week. Also it is a pain to deep fry in this Induction cooktop. I have a small frying pan for deep frying and have to constantly adjust temperatures for every batch to get perfect results. These baked version of our regular pakodas tastes so good and you won’t definitely miss the deep fried ones. Less guilt also I don’t have to strain much. I just mix and put them in the oven. Let it do its own magic 😁My little one who is not a big fan of Mushroom loved this pakoda. I made it for lunch but ended up reserving some for her evening snacks too. You can check my other baked recipes by clicking the links below
You can also add some fresh curry leaves along with Mushrooms.

- Wash Mushrooms and clean them using Paper towel
- Remove the excess moisture also be careful to not to break them completely
- Chop the mushrooms to bite sized pieces and slowly mix flour, salt and chilli powder
- Do this very gently by adding oil little by little
- Ensure all the mushroom pieces are coated with flour mixture
- Preheat oven at 180c for 10 minutes
- Arrange the flour coated Mushrooms on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 22-25 minutes..If you want, you can also spray some oil once you transfer them to the baking tray
- After nearly 22 minutes I turned on the Grill Mode in the oven. The heat from the top will help in making the mushrooms crispier
- In case if you don't have that mode you can leave it on the over for another few minutes extra
- I served these Pakoras with a simple Makhani Pulao (shall add the recipe of the pulao soon) & some plain yogurt
