Vazhakkai Podimas| Vazhakkai Puttu | Raw Banana podimas
Instructions
Cut RawBanana into halves
Peel the skin lightly. Leave some skin on the banana. This step ensures the banana doesnt become soggy even it is slightly overcooked. The skin will hold it together
Boil water in a vessel and add banana pieces and let them cook for about 15-20 minutes in medium flame
Remove from the boiling water. Though the color of the skin looks weird dont worry about it. Just peel off the skin
Grate them and keep it aside
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed, urad dal
Now add chopped ginger & green chilli pieces. (If you are adding onions & garlic add them now)
Sprinkle little water and wait until banana is completely cooked
Turn off the heat and sprinkle coconut. Give it a mix
Once the banana is slightly cooled down add lemon juice , coriander leaves and mix well
I served it with Sambar,Rice & Rasam 🙂
