Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Soak channa dal for about 20 minutes
  2. Mix rice flour,roasted gram dal flour(pottukadalai maavu) and urad dal flour with salt, butter
  3. Then add curry leaves, soaked channa dal, chilli powder, hing to the above mixture
  4. Gently add water to the above mixture and make it to a smooth dough
  5. Make small balls from the dough
  6. Grease a plastic sheet/cover with a oil tbsp.
  7. Flatten the dough using your fingers and let it be thin
  8. In the meantime heat oil for frying
  9. Now transfer the flattened dough to oil and start frying
  10. Repeat the same steps for the remaining balls
  11. Once it is golden brown colour remove the pan and place them on a tissue paper so that the excess oil from thattai is drained
  12. Hot thattais are now ready
  13. Channa dal and curry leaves add great flavour to the dish
