Peas Pulao
It took fifteen minutes to prepare the whole dish. Since I used only onions and peas there wasn’t much chopping (of vegetables) work :-D.
Instructions
Soak Basmati rice for 15 about minutes and then drain water completely
Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel
Add bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, saunf and mustard seeds.Let them splutter
Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillis.Sautxe9 for a minute
Add green peas and salt.Add water according to instruction for cooking basmati rice package
I used IndiaGate Premium Basmati rice which required water for Rice. Basically ratio Rice : water is 1:1.5
Add rice and just ensure rice and peas mixture are incorporated well. In the mean don’mash the rice with your spatula. Mix gently
Add fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves and close the pan
Let the rice be cooked for around 10 minutes
If you want the long grainy look of Basmati rice you need to let the cooked rice cool for sometime and then start serving
I prepared Veg.Kofta as sidedish. Alternatively you prepare Paneer Butter Masala or Chilli Paneer or any other gravy to go with this simple pulao can
