Instructions
Clean and wash the okras. Chop them into thin slices
Chop onions,tomatoes finely and keep it aside
Heat oil in a frying pan (non stick pan works better for sauteing okras)
Add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves. Let them splutter
Add ginger garlic pieces, slit green chilli in the pan and saute for a minute
Now add chopped onions and tomatoes. Add salt,turmeric powder and other spice powders
Mix everything well and then add chopped okras
Saute for about minutes and the okras will start sticking together 3 4
At this stage add a buttermilk or yogurt (this step is completely optional)tbsp
Make sure the spices and okras are blended nicely. Lower the flame and cover the pan with a lid
Once the okras are cooked add in the cooked basmati rice
Use a fork to fluff the rice and carefully mix rice & okra
Garnish with coriander leaves
I served with plain yogurtHowever you prepare a simple raita as a side dish or just serve this rice along with some Potato chips or frymes .can
