Instead of the usual whole wheat flour Rotis we can make these Millet Flour Rotis as an alternate. Millets are wholesome and they keep us full for a longer time
Mix both the Pearl Millet flour & Wheat Flour together
Add ajwain seeds, salt, warm water, oil and form a dough. Use a fork initially to incorporate hot water into the dough. Then slowly mix everything together in hands and form a dough
Start rolling the dough into Rotis
Heat a pan and cook rotis on both sides
Place the cooked Bajra Rotis in a hotpack to prevent them from drying out
You can also smear some ghee before serving
I served these Bajra Rotis with Kidneybeans Stir fry, Sliced Avocado, Tomato salsa & Yogurt. Garnished it with some greens & chilli flakes
Preparation of Ragi Roti
Mix both Finger Millet flour & Wheat Flour together
Add ajwain seeds, salt, warm water, oil and form a dough. Divide the dough into equal sized balls
Start rolling them into Rotis
Heat a pan and cook the rotis on both sides
Place the cooked Ragi Rotis in a hotpack to prevent them from drying out
You can also smear some ghee before serving
I served these Ragi Rotis with Potato Cabbage Masala, some store bought Hummus, salad, home made Guacamole
As mentioned above you can add your own choice of filling
Kidney Beans stir fry
Drain water from Canned Kidneybeans. I used aporoximately 250gms of Red Kidney Beans
Heat oil in a pan, add onions, ginger garlic pieces
Add Chilli Powder, salt and Coriander Powder
Saute for a minute
Add Red Kidney beans and a handful of frozen sweet corn
Mix them together. Adjust salt and if you want you can add dried herbs like Parsely,Oregano to it. Or you can even add fresh herbs like mint & coriander
