Healthy and quick Pasta dish that can be prepared in Instant Pot within 15 minutes. The recipe can be modified based on your preferences. I have used whatever the vegetables that were available with me that day.
Add oil and once they are slightly hot start adding Mustard seeds, Urad dal and Channa Dal
Let them splutter. Add the chopped veggies. Saute for a minute
Add salt, turmeric, hing, chilli powder and coriander powder
Then add the pasta of your choice. I have used Fusilli here. Approximately 1.5 cups of Dry Pasta
You can add any other variety of your choice
Mix everything together
Add 1.25 cups of Water and the frozen peas
Again mix everything together
Turn off ‘Saute’ mode and turn on ‘Pressure Cook’ mode
Set it in ‘High’ and let the ‘Keep warm’ button be turned on
Set the timer for 10 minutes.
Once the timer is off wait for 5 minutes and then manually release pressure. The pasta will look something like this. Adjust salt and mix everything well
If there is water remaining in the pot then turn on ‘Saute’ mode again and stir until the water evaporates
If there is no water then you don’t have to turn on Saute mode. Just serve Pasta Upma as it is
Adjust salt and if you have fresh corinader leaves you can garnish it before serving 🙂
Preparing Pasta without Instant Pot
Boil water in a large vessel and add a pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp Oil. Add 1.5 cups of Pasta of your choice
Let it boil in medium flame for 10-15 minutes until Pasta is cooked
In the meantime saute the veggies like how we usually do for Semiya and Semolina Upma
Heat oil. Add mustard seeds, urad & channa dal. Once they splutter add the veggies, salt & spice powders
Sprinkle 1/4 cup water and close the pan. Let it get cooked for 4-5 minutes
Now add the cooked pasta to this veggie mixture. Mix everything well. You can also add Garam Masala or MDH kitchen king masala if you like
The Pasta Upma pic was prepared without IP. I used Butterfly shaped pasta for this.
