Instructions
Wash Broccoli in cold water and then chop them into medium sized florets
Boil the florets in water with a pinch of salt for about 10 minutes
Drain water completely and keep the florets aside
Heat butter in a sauce pan and add in All Purpose Flour. Stir using a spoon and make sure flour is mixed completely with butter
At this stage turn off the flame and add in milk
Use a wire whisk and mix everything well. Turn on the flame back and ensure it is low
This prevents the formation of lumps in sauce. Season it with salt and black pepper powder
Now add half the grated cheese to sauce pan. The sauce will begin to thicken
Add cooked broccoli and sweet corn kernels. Stir together and ensure broccoli is completely coated with the sauce
Slightly butter the ramekins and fill them with broccoli mixture
Sprinkle the remaining cheese, bread crumbs on all the ramekins
Bake in preheated oven (180c/Gas Mark 5) until cheese melts. It took around 10 minutes for me
If you don’t have oven at home you can skip the last step of adding bread crumbs and serve the cheesy broccoli as it is with some Italian seasoning & for crunch you can add some roasted nuts (cashews, almonds) on top
