Bittergourd/(பாகர்காய்) Chips
This vegetable is loaded with vitamins and playes very important role in lowering the blood sugar levels. However it is not a favorite veg for kids(even for adults too ;)).Instead of completely ignoring bittergourd you can try preparing chips and serve it to kids.

Ingredients
  • 2 Bittergourd
  • 2tbsps All Purpose Flour
  • 1tbsp Corn Flour Rice flour/
  • 1tbsp Salt
  • 1/2tbsp Red ChilliPowder
  • 1/2tbsp Hing / Asefetodia
  • 1/2tbsp BreadCrumbs(optional)
  • Oil for frying
  • Water
Instructions
  1. Chop the bittergourd into small discs. Mix it with little salt and leave it aside for 10 minutes
  2. Squeeze the water completely from bitter gourd.This will remove the bitterness
  3. Now mix maida,corn flour,salt,hing,chilli powder with bitter gourd by adding little water
  4. If you add more water the crispiness will be lost.If you have bread crumbs readily available in your kitchen you could use it too
  5. Let the marinated bitter gourd be aside for about minutes 10
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan.Fry the bittergoud in oil until it turns golden brown
  7. Remove the excess oil by placing it on a tissue paper
  8. Crunchy bittergourd chips are ready to be served
