Bean Burger Patties are a great alternative to the usual Potato & Veggie based patties in Burger. They freeze well too. Great way to add proteins to our breakfast
In a mixie jar add the pressure cooked Moong Beans and Black Eyed beans along with ginger and garlic
Without adding water grind them until they are slightly mushy
To this beans add finely chopped onion, gram flour, bread crumbs, salt, coriander leaves and all the spice powders
The size of the patties can be based on your preference. Shape them and freeze the rest
In a pan add 3-4 tablespoon Oil and once it is hot add the patties
Wait until they are cooked well on both sides. If you want to make it even more healthier you can brush little oil on the patties and then bake them in oven for 20 minutes
We generally prefer Pan fried ones
Green Chutney
This chutney is inspired from our regular southindian style Thogayal
Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal. Saute until they are golden brown
Add red chilli, hing, salt and coconut
Saute everything together for 2-3 minutes
Grind them by adding little water
Once they are turned to a smooth paste add more water to make it to a spreading consistency
Add a generous pinch of chat masala and a teaspoon of lemon juice
You can use this as a spread on Burger
Assembling the Burger
Take the burger bun on a plate
Spread Chutney, add cucumber slices. Then top it off with lettuce or salad leaves
Place the bean burger patty
Then spread the chutney again. Add some tomatoes and now top it off with another bun
Delicious Indian Style Bean Burger is ready to be served
Alternatively you can also use Mayonnaise as a spread
