The following measurement can make upto 8-10 idlis.
- Quaker Oats – 250 gms
- Flax Seed Powder – 2 tbsp(approx 70 gms)
- Broken Wheat – 100 gms
- Dried Methi leaves – 1/4 tsbp
- Low fat Curd – 1 tbsp
- Lemon Juice – 1/2 tbsp
- Water – 2 cups
- Salt – 1/2 tbsp
- Carrot – 1 small size(grated)
- Onion – 1(finely chopped)
- Grated Ginger – 1/4 tbsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Method of Preparation :
In a blender blend quaker oats and broken wheat together.
Add flax seeds powder, methi leaves and mix them first.
Then slowly add low-fat curd. Add water accordingly to make a thick batter.
Add salt to the batter.
If you want you can fry onion, carrot in a pan and then add them to the batter.
However I prefer directly adding them.It adds crunchiness to idlis.
Heat water in a pressure cooker.
Coat the idli plates with little oil.
Pour batter in the plates and allow it be in steam for about 10 minutes.
Once they are cooled down remove the idlis from idli plates.
Serve it hot with green chutney or coconut chutney or sambar
