I have been planning to write exclusive Krishna Jayanthi Neivedhyam recipe posts for a while. But couldn’t get a chance to try out these dishes before the occassion. Though the celebrations are already over I believe these might come handy at least for next year 😉 Also better late than never.
My mother-in-law would fast during ‘Gokulashtami’ and she will start preparing those snacks only from morning. She will end her fast in the evening after doing a puja and welcoming ‘Kutty kicha’. However in my mom’s house we will not be fasting the whole day also she will do all the prep work and even some snacks like Thattai & Thenkozhal (Murukku) the day prior to ‘Janmashtami’. Appam, payasam will be prepared in the morning.
This year I prepared 4 neivedhyams for Lord Krishna. Vella Cheedai, Thenkozhal, Appam and Thattai. If you have the below ‘Must have ingredients’ list ready these items can be prepared easily.
Must have ingredients :
- Rice Flour
- Urad Dal Flour
- Jaggery Syrup.
