GramFlour Laddoo
October 21, 2016Deepavali is in a week’s time and I thought of sharing some festival recipes that can be prepared easily. First on the list is this awesome Gram Flour Laddoo (கடலை மாவு லட்டு). My mother’s recipe and made it for the first during Navarathri , turned out perfectly well. Do read the notes before starting to make the laddu. From the measurements given below you can make 12 medium sized laddoo. Kindly increase quantity according to your requirement 1. Sifting Gram Flour helps to remove lumps and yields smooth Laddoo 2. Courgette/Zucchini Pakoda
August 8, 2016Have never cooked Courgettes until I was in Chennai. If you give me any new vegetable all I can think of is how to cook a SouthIndian recipe using it. Courgette/Zucchini is a summer squash vegetable popular in UK.Its texture slightly similar to Cucumber & I have made Courgette Kuruma (thick stew using coconut paste), Koottu (lentil based gravy) before. Last weekend I thought of preparing Pakoda from it. Initially I wasn’t too sure how it will work so thought of adding some carrots along with courgette. Turned out so delicious and this is my own recipe. Instead of the usual Onion Pakoda/Pakora try this and am sure you will like it too. I bought this handy cheap spiralizer during a sale. I use it for salads mainly. Instead of grating Courgette & Carrot i used this spiralizer. In case if you don’t have it , use your knife & make thin strips.

May 22, 2015Easy to prepare Okra fry that can be served as a side dish for Rice or you can even make it for kids as snack in the evenings. If you want it to be healthier try baking or shallow frying instead of deep frying Bhindi. I personally haven’t tried these two methods and hence am not sure how the output

Broccoli Fry
March 26, 2015This is a very simple pan fried broccoli dish. You can serve it along with hot fried rice or you can even prepare it for evening snacks. You can also deep fry the florets or else bake them if you wanted it to be healthy and minimize the oil consumption.
